You can have Freedom

In the beginning,

God created us in His perfect image, to reflect his Glory and to share in a beautiful relationship with Him. This is an amazing thought, so stop for a moment and contemplate it, even if you don’t believe it.  Ask God to show you if it is true!

But there was one who was jealous of this plan, and he tempted us to doubt God’s Word, and believe that we knew better.

Thus, mankind fell into sin and could no longer have that close intimate relationship with God that we were made for. For God is perfect and his goodness is beyond compare, and if we approach Him in a state of sin, we will be consumed. Since then there has never been anyone on Earth who hasn’t sinned until God sent his own Son to become one of us and show us the Way back to God.

Jesus sacrificed himself to pay the price of our sin, a price we could never pay ourselves. All He asks of us is that we believe this, and believe that he was resurrected back to life, an eternal life where he reigns as King, having defeated sin and the enemy.

The Promise

His promise is this: That if we believe in Him, ask Him into our hearts, and follow Him; then he will give us His Holy Spirit, who will change our Hearts. We can have freedom from sin,  and become acceptable in the eyes of God the Father, not because of what we have done but because of our faith in Jesus.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—for all whom the Lord our God will call.”
